Experienced community advocate, long-time Democrat, and entrepreneur seeks to replace outgoing Representative Stephanie Chang
DETROIT, MI– Mr. Tom Choske has officially announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the 6th State House District, encompassing parts of the lower eastside of Detroit, Downtown, Southwest, and the communities of Ecorse and River Rouge.
With years of experience working in the public and private sector, Tom is running to be an effective advocate for our community in Lansing. He started in public service at the age of 18, working as an intern in the State House. He then worked for Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero’s transition team, in Sen. Carl Levin’s Lansing office, and overseas for the US Foreign Commercial Service. Serving as a staffer for State Senator, and later Congressman Hansen Clarke, Tom had the privilege of working directly with the people in the 6th State House District. After leaving the Congress, Tom worked in digital advertising and started his own businesses: Choske Consulting and Freshwater Transit Solutions, where he had the opportunity to work to help move our region’s transit systems forward and support small businesses.
“Our district is one of the most pivotal and diverse districts in the entire state,” said Tom. “I am running for the State House of Representatives to bring my experience to the table to help serve our residents and fight for the values and progressive policies we all share .”
